For a novice photographer trying to capture the Eastern spinebill requires lots of patience. This little beauty is one of the smallest honeyeaters on the East Coast. Having a fine, long downward curved bill allows it to probe deep into energy nectar rich flowers. I have witnessed them hovering like a humming bird while feeding. They are also adept at capturing insects on the wing.
