Busy bee for Banksias

A small group today but we punched above our weight.

Today’s plantings mainly focused on the Coastal Banksia (Banksia integrifolia). Clusters of flowers provide a major source of food for nectar feeding birds. After flowering, the large woody cones provide seeds and larvae for the Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos. The mature trees may develop hollows in their trunks making them attractive to birds, bats and possums
